La Villajoyosa

A colourful town

Playa Centro is home to colourful houses painted in pastel shades. Why were they painted in such bright colours? So that fishermen could make them out, even when at sea. Highly recommended for photographers.

The old town centre

The picturesque old town centre is particularly impressive with its Gothic church and narrow streets. The town has a marina and a fishing port: watch the fishermen coming back at 5 p.m.

Valor chocolate

The oldest Valor chocolate factory is located in the town. Although this chocolate is sold all over the world, it has its origins in La Villajoyosa. The Valor Chocolate Museum is definitely worth a visit.

Market & Benidorm

A weekly market is held on Thursdays. It’s very cheap to take the train from La Villajoyosa to Benidorm.

Cycling, Jetski

The region is extremely popular with cyclists and offers beautiful routes through stunning mountain landscapes. You can rent a bike or bring your own.

You can take an accompanied Jetski tour of either 30min (75eur) or 1 hour (125eur) around the harbor of avinuda Del Port. There is room for 2 on a Jetski. The Jetski mentor will take additional pictures as a memory. You can also rent a boat without the need of a boat license. More info on www.todajet.com or you can reach them at +34 663 479 223.

Public transport

There is a train station within walking distance of the apartment with regular services to Alicante and Benidorm. You can also travel by train to the airport.

Gastronomy

There are a lot of delightful restaurants with an emphasis on fresh fish and shellfish alongside the beach. To name a few that will definitely be appreciated: Le Cabanon, T-class, Puur... For those who enjoy dining in the old city is DRoca an excellent suggestion.

Sun, sea and beach

The town has access to a lovely 3.5km golden beach. You can enjoy an astonishing sunrise and sunset in the morning and evenings (see pictures).
